Pippa Middleton's bridesmaid dress for saleDebenhams were so attentive to every detail, it seemed a strange decision to hire a Duchess of Cambridge look-a-like to model the dress at a photocall outside the Oxford Street branch in central London this morning.
Essex-based Jodie Bredo, who works as a PA at an insurance firm in the City, posed on a red carpet clutching a bouquet of flowers. She has worked as a Kate double for over two years after several new acquaintances pointed out the similarity between her and the now Duchess. Sadly for Bredo, her posterior doesn't have quite the star quality of Kate's 27-year-old sister Pippa whose custom-made McQueen gown enveloped her svelte curves to perfection on the big day, and ignited a national obsession.
A personal shopper for Debenhams has revealed how the store was inundated with shoppers looking for similar styles to Pippa's gown after the April nuptials. Since the retailer announced back in August that it was producing a replica of the bridesmaid gown (which is rumoured to have cost in the region of £20,000) and the emerald green Temperley dress which Pippa wore to the evening reception, the retailer received over 1,000 emails to the 'firstname.lastname@example.org' email address set up for customers to sign up for updates.
