Royal Wedding Guinness Record

Royal Wedding Guinness Record, The royal wedding of Britain's Prince William and Kate Middleton this spring was one for the history books - and the record books too. According to the latest edition of the Guinness Book of World Records, released on Thursday, the April 29 ceremony at Westminster Abbey was watched online by 72 million viewers, earning it the title for "Most Live Streams for a Single Event".

Like its predecessors, this year's edition of the 56-year-old annual reference book is chock full of all kinds of examples of extraordinary achievement, high and low. And Middleton, now known as the Duchess of Cambridge, isn't the only royal in there.

Chris Walton, a Las Vegas-based singer who goes by the name "The Dutchess" and has nails that measure more than 5m combined, won the title for longest fingernails in this year's edition, clawing it away from the previous record holder, who had held the title for 10 years straight.

Prisons cut lunch on weekends
States prisons cut lunches weekends, In Bid to Cut Costs at Some Texas Prisons, Lunch Will Not Be Served on Weekends. Texas prison officials last month ended the decades-old practice of serving last meals to inmates about to be executed after one man ordered an elaborate feast of hamburgers, pizza and chicken-fried steaks that he did not eat. But the 300 inmates on death row are not the only ones coping with food restrictions.

Thousands of other inmates in the Texas prison system have been eating fewer meals since April after officials stopped serving lunch on the weekends in some prisons as a way to cut food-service costs. About 23,000 inmates in 36 prisons are eating two meals a day on Saturdays and Sundays instead of three. A meal the system calls brunch is usually served between 5 and 7 a.m., followed by dinner between 4 and 6:30 p.m.
